Dime Box makes home-grown music in a store-bought world. Smooth sweet vocals meet lightning-fast picking, Dime Box are the girls next door, if the girls next door just happened to have a damn good country band.

Sounds Like: Tammy Wynette singing Gram Parsons songs if Roy Acuff was backing.

Kristi Callan: Vocals, Guitar, Banjo

Edie Murphy: Fiddle, Mandolin, Backing Vocals

Yolande Ng: Guitar, Backing Vocals

Dime Box is three women hell-bent on saving animals, righting wrongs, and making home-grown music in a store-bought world.

Texas-born Callan returns to her roots in this band after a long spell working with such noteworthy folks as Wednesday Week, David Gray, Dave Davies, The Wondermints, and lots of other entertainer-type people.

Edie grew up in Florida where she studied classical violin. That came in handy once she discovered bluegrass, and when she moved to Los Angeles and studied mandolin at the acclaimed Silver Lake Conservatory of Music, she transformed into the versatile instrumentalist she is today.

Yolande is the Haight Asbury/Summer of Love Child from San Francisco, and likely the reason for the “Flying Burrito Sisters” comments. Her nimble fingers got their start in the cow punk scene playing with such luminaries as the Spurs, The Better Halfs and the Vaquetones.

Kristi, Edie and Yolande blend their varied influences to create a dynamic brand of compelling Americana heretofore unseen.
